Renault - PG 7 - Vivastella

The Vivastella was a more luxurious evolution of the Renault Vivasix (1928–1931) and was available in several body styles.

The Lumière brothers, pioneers of cinematography, chose to purchase only the bare chassis so that it could be custom-built to their own specifications.

As a result, this car was bodied as a seven-seat limousine by Billeter & Cartier in Lyon.

The roof was raised by 15 cm to allow passengers to keep their hats on while seated.

Despite the partition between the passenger compartment and the driver, communication was possible thanks to an acoustic speaking tube connecting the two sections and terminating near the driver's left ear.

Price of the bare chassis: 22,700 francs.
