DELAUNAY-BELLEVILLE Type P4 B

Thanks to their high-quality construction, Delaunay-Belleville cars quickly earned a solid reputation as a luxurious, reliable, and powerful automotive brand. The brand particularly appealed to Tsar Nicholas II of Russia.

Delaunay-Belleville cars are recognizable by the circular shape of their grille, reminiscent of the tubes in the industrial boilers the company had previously manufactured.

In 1911, Jules Bonnot carried out his first bank robbery behind the wheel of a Delaunay-Belleville. Most of the cars used subsequently by the Bonnot gang -notably during the famous robbery of the Société Générale in Paris, which pioneered the method of fleeing by car- were Delaunay-Bellevilles. At the time, they were the undisputed benchmark for performance and reliability. This criminal innovation secured a place in history for both the Bonnot gang and the brand.
