Saddler-upholsterer

A saddler-upholsterer working in the museum

Since June 2017, the Baron Sellier workshop has been installed in the park annex of the Musée de l’Automobile Henri Malartre.

Jean-Baptiste Gawrieh, a master saddler-upholsterer since 1983, works with leather exclusively on the restoration of the vintage cars in the collection. His work has included seats, benches, headliners, interior trim for doors and dashboards, and is always carried out respecting the materials and techniques in use at the time of the vehicle’s manufacture.

During your visit, you can admire his workmanship through the windows of his workshop. The skills of Mr. Gawrieh, combined with those of the museum’s mechanics, makes the Musée de l’Automobile Henri Malartre a prime location in France for the restoration of vintage vehicles.
